Dashboard screens
Counts and totals from a list, as a tab in your app.
A dashboard screen is a tab in your app showing counts and totals from one of its lists: how many classes run this week, the total spots left, the average price, the most popular level.
Add one
- Open the app's Data tab and pick the list.
- Under Dashboard tab, click Add a dashboard tab.
- Set it up:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tab name | What the tab is called ("Studio at a glance"). |
| Show the tab to | Everyone, Signed-in customers or Customers not signed in. |
| Tiles | Up to 6. Each one is a Count of records, or the Total of, Average of, Lowest or Highest value of a number field. Give it a label, or it names itself ("Average price"). |
| Count only records where… | Rules that pick which records count, like "Spots left is more than 0". Empty counts the whole list. |
| Break down by | A field whose top values are listed with how many records have each, as bars. |
Right now under the settings shows the numbers as they are, from your own list.
An app has up to 4 tabs in all, lists and dashboards together.
What customers see
The tab shows on the app's Home under At a glance and in the menu. Its tiles show the numbers, and the breakdown shows bars sized to each value's share.

Who sees what
A dashboard counts only what its reader may see of the list:
| The list is | A dashboard over it |
|---|---|
| Anyone with the link | Counts every record, for everyone. |
| Signed-in customers | Asks customers to sign in first. |
| Each sees their own (customer entries) | Counts only the signed-in customer's own entries. |
| Only you | Isn't shown to customers. |
Customers can only ask for the dashboards you've put in the app, never other numbers. The numbers are worked out on the server each time the tab opens.
Good to know
- Values that aren't numbers are skipped when totalling or averaging.
- In the builder's preview, the dashboard shows your real numbers.
